Mainly want it for watching TV and Movies when I'm away fishing (will connect to my phones Internet using mobile hotspot) I need it for storing photos, reading amazon kindle, the odd game, social media etc..

I'm not a salesman for Amazon but you get Amazon prime and kindle with their tablets they do a 16gb quite cheaply as for gaming you will need to ask the younger posters.

You should take a look even if it to rule it out.

Amazon tablets are cheap but they do not run on Android so if you need Google Play Store it's not for you.

You can side-load the google play store onto Amazon fire tablets, I do on mine.

It makes them much more usable, Amazon stuff is a bit limited.

Sounds like you don't need Play Store - the Kindle app store will give you all you need, social media etc. Prime music and video, netflix etc...

The games are a bit sh*t, mind. there's plenty on there, but never the ones anyone talks about!

Just about the best tablet you can buy for £200.
Twice the ram, twice the storage and better screen than the samsung tab 10.1 for the same price.

Really you need 2GB of ram, 1GB will drive you mad.

Neocore, a British tablet is around £100- very good spec including 10" HD toughened glass screen and rubberised back.

The main problem with budget tablets is small tinny speakers the Amazon fire is quite good though.

The Neocore is on Amazon with a video review.

Bonne chance as they say

I have an older Amazon Fire 7 and getting Google apps on it was pretty easy. Good value too.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

Not if you want to watch Netflix in HD

Just , as with everything, buy the best spec' within your budget. Sometimes spending a bit more (for example on a larger hard drive), will save you money in the longer term by not having to deal with over-spill on memory sticks, etc.

I disengage, I turn the page.

I bought a Huawei media pad in January of last year and it is a real piece of crap. I certainly wouldn’t buy another Huawei product again and I would recommend that nobody else does either.
