He comes from a time when there was a lot of humour that was pretty wholesome. Most people appreciated that. Nowadays it's the other way and a lot (not all) humour has to press buttons and be very edgy. I can see the positives in both but there aren't that many wholesome comedians who will make everyone laugh nowadays that I know of and it would be nice to see some more.
Anyway, he always seemed like a good fella. RIP.

Man is the most insane species. He worships an invisible God and destroys a visible Nature. Unaware that this Nature he’s destroying is this God he’s worshipping.

Des has just done a one-man show. Let’s hope two turn up next time’.

He's a self-made man, it's good of him to take the blame.

RIP Des.

In this modern era we witness a number of left wing, so called 'Alternative' comedians. To me they are about as amusing as rabies in a guide dogs home.

As Bernard Manning once commented, these comedians are called "Alternative" because they are just not funny.

RIP Des O'Connor

Sad to hear of O'Connor's passing after a fall.

OUCH!

RIP Des, loved by millions(woder if Mr A will post his album on MP3 thread), ridiculed, by 'alternatives' cos they could never replicate his affable & public pleasi g style.

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.

Des O'Connor had an allegiance towards Northampton Town FC. He played for their reserves after he was evacuated to the town during World War II.
