Sheff Utd's 1 point tally at this stage of the competition is the joint-lowest tally in PL history, alongside Manchester City in 1995-96, Southampton in 1998-99, Sheffield Wed in 1999-00 and Sunderland in 2013-14.

Both Man C and Sheff Wed got relegated which of course means the other two survived.Long way to go in the season.

I can imagine Sheffield doing a great escape, pulling Brighton into trouble. I think it's already looking grim for WBA and Fulham.

Fulham might escape as getting slightly more coordinated. Sheffield u and weed are playing as best they can and still not getting points.
WBA might draw their way to safety. Low points at the bottom this year. Maybe 30-33 to keep you up.

This has been an unprecedented season with a very short pre-season, no spectatators in stadia and some exceedingly surprising results which could of course be linked to the above.
Trying to decide which clubs will finish in the bottom three in such circumstances is somewhat challenging!

Prior to the season I was asked for my predictions by a football correspondent chum and I mentioned Burnley,Fulham and WBA but as everyone knows on HOL I have a dismal record of correctly predicting football outcomes!

I'm pretty sure West Brom and Sheff Utd are gone . I know it's early to predict but the former look naive in their play and the latter have lost a world class keeper and are suffering from second season syndrome.

Maybe it's a short pre season or playing in empty stadia that's the cause. I can see Burnley pulling clear purely because of Dyche. He won't go down without a fight and Sadly I can't see Brighton dropping either. Fulham looking the most likely.

Roy will play defensive/offensive depending on what he believes and we will be here next season.

Indeed Sheff Utd have lost Dean Henderson who has returned to Man Utd and replaced him with Aaron Ramsdale who cost them £18.5 Mill from Bournemouth after they sold him to the 'Cherries' for £1 Mill + 15% sell-on clause.

A big loss has also been the left-footed Jack O'Connell who plays on the left of the back three and is a real threat in the air at set-pieces.

Good goalkeeper and a key component of the back three missing from last season.Only the top three teams in the PL last season conceded fewer goals than Sheff Utd.

It’s easy to say it’s only been 7 or 8 games so it’s way too early to talk about who is getting relegated but without spectators I think it’s going to be a whole lot harder to put some kind of run together. I would be very surprised if Fulham or West Brom survive but the third place is up for grabs.

Burnley, after looking a competent side against us in their last game, were thankfully put to sword by a flamboyant Man City.( Thanks Pep for doing us a favour!!)
Meanwhile,Brighton creep ever closer to us with an unlikely point against the Champions, courtesy of a dodgy penalty decision and the clash of the titans, between WBA and Sheffield is currently underway.Hopefully,a draw would be the best outcome for us,to keep both sides many points below ourselves, while we await the return of our one man team to halt our rapid descent down the table, under our clueless leader, seemingly quite devoid of ideas to get us back winning ways without him. After his absence due to isolation,do hope he does not claim parental leave as I understand he is a proud new father. Many congratulations Wilf !!

I don't watch Sheffield, but can someone explain how they went from being promoted to the PL, immediately to almost playing in Europe, and then crashing down this season to losing 9 out of 10, in last place, and looking like relegation.

What is going on with them?

2017 Feb. (Van Aanholt) Palace 1 - 0 Middlesboro
2018 Jan. (Sako) Palace 1 - 0 Burnley
2019 May (Batshuayi, Batshuayi, OG, Van Aanholt, Townsend) Palace 5 - 3 Bournemouth
2020 Feb. (Van Aanholt) Palace 1 - 0 Newcastle

Believed their own hype I guess.

Second season syndrome? The lad we tried to sign from Liverpool hasn't done much.

Quite a limited squad with a couple of over performers last season. It can't all be Henderson. Weak up front - OK at the back, lack of creativity in midfield. More workmanlike than anything else. Probably similar to us without Zaha.
