Eaglecoops, fortunately, i do not have any financial worries, but i think this lockdown is utter nonsense, i am 70, and supposedly at risk, but this nonsense is going to hurt an awful lot of people, totally unnecessary, some young people should grow up, and when out take precautions, most do, just some idiots, it is for me, and people at risk that need to be careful, i agree with a lot of the sentiments on here, i feel so sorry for all those who are being affected

I agree with you 100%, maybe you misread my post if you think I have a different opinion.

Anyway, I’ve had enough of this place, I’ve brought forward my flight and I’m off to Tenerife tomorrow morning for 3 or 4 months. I hope all you Palace fans keep safe and I really hope they let you out before Christmas.

Thanks. Funnily enough yes, but there is a bit of a queue!

I find it hard to take a view when facts are so hard to come by.

My partner favours a full lockdown. Her point is that you can't just have hospitals brimming over and no longer being able to serve as hospitals for other things.

Part of me wonders if they could set up home delivery of ventilators and have nurses advising on care remotely.

If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities.

I was thinking the same, can you bypass the patient going into hospital altogether.

No you can't do this we don't have enough trained staff anyway and you need a skilled person on site also ventilators are last resort no one should be quick to go on one the odds with this is you go on you are not coming back from it with good health after.

I guess I know that...

...so what is the solution to stop hospitals getting overrun and doing the other important work they need to do?

BTW, I have huge sympathy for those who've lost livelihoods

A bit like smoking & lung cancer....there is a very clear correlation but it is less dramatic than a shooting in the High Street.

You cannot stop the tides, and you cannot stop a flu pandemic.

Actually I think recessions mean less deaths in total but that’ll be down to less extravagance and driving deaths etc. But of course people die in recessions through no fault of their own if you like or because they’re suddenly in situations with little way out and it’s completely new to them.

Don’t blame you. Britain sucks right now.

Sensible comments here. I’m just waiting for the lockdown supporters to get involved. They are easy to spot, they don’t have a financial worry in the world and are happy to shut down everything to keep themselves safe.

I thought Steeleye would be one. Completely surprised by his sensible view he didn’t take from left wing activists making many get so angry with them.
