Gibraltar won promotion to Nations League C after a draw with Liechtenstein in the final game. Could potentially face the Republic of Ireland or Northern Ireland if either are relegated from League B this week. Tjay De Barr was MOTM for me, ran his socks off, won tons of free kicks (his pace makes him a magnet for defenders to foul) but also showed his physical game is improving.

I noted that Scott Wiseman was in the Gibraltar line-up.Very experienced, ploughed his furrow for quite a few clubs in this country. He was at Salford City last season.

I recall him as a player who was primarily a right-back but also played in central defence.Keith Hill signed him for Rochdale and Hill signed him again, when he went on to manage Barnsley.

SKY co-commentator Danny Higginbotham has played for Gibraltar.

Yeah, and Blackburn Rovers U23 centre-back Louie Annesley has been playing as more of a defensive midfielder for the national team, looked the part too. Can tell Blackburn missed him when he was on international duty though as the U23s lost 6-0 with him out of the side.

Gibraltar squad for this month's games announced:

Players to watch:
- Dayle Coleing (24, GK, Glentoran)
- Louie Annesley (20, CB/DM, Blackburn Rovers)
- Kian Ronan (20, RB/DM, Lincoln Red Imps)
- Tjay De Barr (21, RW/FW, Lincoln Red Imps)
- Ayoub El Hmidi (20, AM/FW, Mons Calpe)
- Dylan Borge (17, ST, Europa)

Kian Ronan is former captain of Ipswich U23s, relocated to Gib after Ipswich were relegated and they released a lot of their youngsters. Borge is one of Gibraltar's biggest talents, broke into the Lincoln side when he had just turned 16 and moved to Europa in the summer, already one of the league's top scorers. Coleing moved to Glentoran in the summer and after a rocky star is now #1 keeper for the team with the best defensive record in Northern Ireland (by some distance), while Louie Annesley has recently started filling in as U23 captain at Blackburn U23, currently 2nd in Premier League 2, while also training with the first team.

You guys are going to want to watch Lincoln Red Imps vs St Joseph's on Thursday. 1st vs 3rd, but if St Joseph's win then the top three will all be level on points going into the final weekend of the season. Quality might not be there but the excitement sure is.

Latest player to go pro is Tjay De Barr, signing for Wycombe Wanderers. Hopefully he excels in England.

Haven't been updating this at all this season, really should.

Gib League is now available to watch live and on demand at Footters for free so that's useful.

One player who's just broken through is a young striker called Jaiden Bartolo who I think could be on some pro clubs radars soon.

Name: Jaiden Bartolo
Age: 16 (11/02/2006)
Position: Centre-Forward
Current Club: 🇬🇮 Manchester 62 FC

International: Gibraltar U17 - 5 caps, 2 goals
1 goal scored vs Faroe Islands U17 10 September 2021 (Result: W 2-1)
1 goal scored vs Bosnia-Herzegovina U17 7 October 2021 (Result: L 1-6)

Season stats:
Gibraltar Intermediate League (U23 League): 2 apps, 4 goals
Gibraltar National League: 4 apps, 5 goals

Made his U23 debut on 10 February 2022 against Lynx U23, scoring 4 goals as a substitute in a 7-4 win.
Made his first team debut on 12 February 2022 against College 1975, starting the game and scoring one goal.
Scored first senior hat-trick on 5 March 2022 in a 4-1 win against Lynx.
