and now you are having second thoughts ? oh boo hoo. your desire for English independence is hilarious considering all the places that needed fight to get their independence from you.... Canada, india, pakistan, israel, the US, ireland, australia, new zealand.... you sound like a longterm chain smoker whinging about the unfairness of having crocked lungs. You are aware it was scotland that created the union not England aint you England didn't invade anywhere the United Kingdom did which was created my scotland so default its scotlands fault son. Plus as his pointed out england was repeatedly invaded my Scottish and Welsh and they lost its not like we just conquered it for no reason and only the USA fought for freedom rest it was given to and some are worse off since Zimbabwe an example. English independence could be a good thing. Scotland and Ulster are poor, cold, and full of people who hate the english. Ghandi & indian independence Wasn't a war and Britain gave India independence after WW2 broke us financially.....Which was part reason Ghandi was quite keen on Hitler. Originally posted by PalazioVecchio
the broken promises of Lawrence of Arabia Not a proud moment for us....but those promises weren't Lawrence's fault nor was a conflict fought against us that resulted in independence. We gave up our middle eastern lands after WW2 because we were skint and our power and will for empire had diminished. ? Originally posted by PalazioVecchio

Ok, fair enough, but these are lefty talking points and as such always deserve contesting because these are subjective areas. Originally posted by PalazioVecchio

The English has been downgraded while all the other home nations were given their own parliament with the excuse that the 'houses of parliament' was enough for the English....when other home nationals get to vote on English laws...and not only that we have non English prime ministers. So I also have no issues with English independence....and also with the English regaining control back of their own cities.

I must admit I'm surprised to read this post from you. Firstly there was no 'Scotland' or Wales existing as an independent country from England back then. These lands were all in play.....So you are guilty of historical revisionism here. The English also won wars against invading armies looking to take the country...which included the Scottish I might add. You appear to attack the English for winning wars rather than losing them. Also out of the countries you listed none of them officially fought us for independence other than the US. Also you seem to think it legitimate that these countries gained independence yet don't think it legitimate for the English because of what elites did hundreds of years ago? Are you a leftist now? Ulster is British. Not English. you might say it is British and irish at the same time. Much as Wales is British and Welsh. Neither will ever be English. is it forbidden to say 'England for the English'' anymore ?
