Unfortunately many pensioners in my area would not recognise travellers and just thought they were usual tradesmen. So I do have an element of sympathy.
They were most indignant when I refused their offer of a s*** drive

I had one try to sell me knocked off fake aftershave in my local town last winter, 2 days later he knocked on my door and asked if I wanted my newly block paved drive sealed. I said to him "what are you going to seal it with Paco Rabane?"

He was only about 25 so walked off a bit confused

Never a dull moment!

Compulsive thieves and bullies ... they arrive in gangs to steal from our local stores and garden centres. The culprits are usually women and children ... whilst the men will threaten retaliation if they are challenged. Too many 'pikeys' hereabouts and seem to have far more respect and entitlements than they merit. Pure SCUM.

I have to concur with all the above, and maybe add dumping shed loads of rubbish when they move on- always feel gutted when those tv progs on channel 5-heres pete- nickname the vulcan-driving the suburu x5- top speed 220 mph- chases a stolen car going at 80 driving through towns and red lights, catches the toerags- only for them to pull onto a common and 50 odd friends are waiting by their caravans- only to hear the commentator say- Pursuits called off, pete will have to get them another day! To be fair to them - and i am no fan- they are only breaking the law! Not international law(that is ok to break ), but just uk law! It would be a tad hypocritical of gov .uk to break one giant law itself, then moan if someone, anyone, breaks just uk law. "Do as i say, not as i do", springs to mind!
