Well to me he did ok having scored two tap ins and one assist and involved in another. He still looked , at least to me , as being a little short of Premiership quality. Hopefully however he may have increased his resale value which could be beneficial to us.
Hopefully, he hasn't done his resale value any harm.

I know that he looked lost and rather hopeless in some games but we've now seen what he's capable of at a higher level (and what put him on our radar in the first place), so you have to question the environment at Palace which stopped him showing his talent. There are players that we've really gone out on a limb to nurture and protect over the years, so-called 'bad boys' that are given a chance here. Sorloth doesn't even fall into the latter category but for a young lad moving countries and coming to a really competitive league the management didn't do enough to support him and get the best out of him. That needs to be looked at or we'll let more talent slip away or worse not even be able to attract them.

He was never given a chance to flourish.

I have never made any statements on Sorloth,s ability, because this for me has always revolved around whether he could score or not. For me his general play was always OK . But in our situation if he didn’t actually score goals it would be hard to make a case for him.

A significant upgrade on Benteke
Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |

I just noticed that he's having a good season on loan in La Liga with Real Sociedad have scored 15 goals and MOTM in their win over Barcelona this weekend. That said it has taken him to reach the age of 27 and failed stints in the PL and the Bundesliga before showing any form at the top level. I don;t consider Turkish football to be that great and he only scored 4 goals for Ghent. Hopefully he has now settled and will do well but we made the right call getting rid 4 years ago.

Did we get it wrong? Probably. I thought he was destined for second rate Turkish outfits but here he turns up at Real Sociedad and stuffs Barcelona. Another one is journeyman Freddie Ladapo now doing likewise for promotion side Ipswich Town. Good luck to them, we have dropped a few clangers over the years.

I believe too many strikers are cast aside in the Prem when they might have been mismanaged or just needed a whisker more time or a system tweak to optimise them. I believe it with both Edouard and Mateta. With us, Sorloth seemed to lack awareness and didn't show great confidence in his touch. Bit equally, it always looked like he might come good. It was a real shame his goal v Chelsea didn't stand... maybe that would have altered his trajectory.
If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities. |

Apparently we were offered another Norwegian striker a few years back but felt he wasnt strong enough physically to cope with the PL. I wonder what happened to him. Some bloke called Haaland if I remember correctly.
