Chelsea have just paid out another £70m so hopefully the will be looking to offload Bats.

We can't afford his massive wages, and there's been no indication thus far that he's willing to lower his wage demands.

You missed out the word "yet" from the end of your sentence.

Parish may be a tight fisted wad but he isn't stupid and he must know that without a reliable goal scorer we will be staring relegation in the face

Let’s hope so. I’ve been waiting patiently for quite a few windows now and the ’ yet’ hasn’t arrived err yet!

Well we can only hope that we will sign one before the window shuts.. In my opinion we need two... We all know Benteke is s***e. Only positive was that his link up play was decent last season to be fair however, we need goals and have done for quite some time... I would be stunned and disgusted if we failed to sign another striker.

Agreed! Ayew = 2 far more reliables to come in.

Today’s game must rubber stamp the urgent need for at least one reliable finisher , two if poss ,which it probably isn’t.

Mr Bright during the commentary on the friendly this afternoon at one point stated that it is great we are creating the chances but to have a striker in the box who can put them away is very very expensive ! Might this mean we are going to have to make do with what we have got ?

I cannot believe with the premiership about to start we haven’t even looked close to signing a striker .With one of the worst scoring teams last season giving chance after chance to Benteke Enough is enough get him out of the club and bring in someone who can score

I would imagine, that signing a striker is fairly easy. Signing a striker, that is any good and scores for fun and doesn't cost £40m plus is a lot more difficult. We are looking for someone young with potential between £15-£20m, so are 15 other Premier clubs, then there is no guarantee they will perform in the Premier. Refer to Meyer a so called midfield star in Germany, but cant make any impact in the Premier.

We need an instinctive goal scorer, who is calm and mobile. They ain’t easy to find (or keep hold of) for our budget.
The good news is that any recognised goal scorer is better than NOT HAVING ONE AT ALL.
The final piece of the jigsaw is likely to be the most expensive - but will we spend the money?”

I don’t know why we aren’t in the running to sign Callum Wilson, not excessive at £20 million!

Toney from Peterborough, just snapped up by Brentford for 5 mill to replace Watkins before he goes.

He would be ideal .. even untried at 5 mill is nothing equivalent to a year of Tekkers doing Sweet fa
