They don't really, it's just another excuse to cry about having their values taken away, I reckon the majority of people crying over this don't even know the words or what it's about . Really!

No one really cares, all it's done is give Johnson and his useless Government a chance to push the mess they are making of running the Country off the front pages. Land of Hope and Glory is now at number one in the charts. Essentially you're just talking about those who think like you.

Perhaps next year people should boycott the proms, if not make sure there is a rousing rendition. The BBC and certain posters need to realise most of the general public are p***ed off with our history/ heritage being eradicated.

Apart from this year where no real audience will be present they would have no way of controlling the crowd so if they wanted no one singing they'd have to not play those tunes. I suggest people who disagree with this dictatorial, anti tradition and anti British reading of history start their own proms......that's the way it's going.

It is a load of colonialist guff. Lots of puff about spreading our boundaries widely and slavery. Yes part of our history but of little resonance with me today. Lovely tune mind.

A lot of people, including me, associate both songs with never being taken over on our own soil or losing the big wars. Well not for many centuries. It’s either far left or far right who think or want it to represent something ugly, just like their politics.

Really I prefer it to that National Anthem dirge, and nonsensical Jerusalem at cricket matches. A re-vamp of these anthems to reflect an England that is not stone dead would be great, songs by the Beatles perhaps. Glad all over?? No, not really........ And get rid of Gary Lineker at the same time. Clinton Morrison the first Obama. Anything, just anything, different.
