if I remember right , a few weeks ago Chelsea said that they were going to get rid of some of there forwards as they are not scoring goals . If a player cannot score with the players Chelsea have , what make anyone think they are going to start to score goals in our team ?

Bats did in my view extremely well for us on loan, and helped keep us up that season. Made a big difference. But I agree it would be a mistake to pay £15-20m for him, plus sizeable wages. Watkins hasn't gone anywhere else yet, so makes sense to go for a younger player, more flexible, and hopefully on more sensible wages?

Pound for pound [ transfer fees and wages ] he is ome of the worst footballers I've ever seen. Winston Bogarde takes some beating..but "Bats" is trying to emulate him.

He smashed it at Dortmund and had a roughly 1 in 2 goal record for us which is pretty damn good. For £15m I'd take him in a heartbeat.

I doubt anyone is going to pay Chelsea the fee they want because of his age. So either Chelsea drop their price or they send him on loan. I would be very happy if we could have him on load for 1 season as long as we buy another striker.
