Messi is getting crucified by the Catalan football journalists.

I give him only another 5 minutes as a football God....Then he will be donning his feet of clay

Ronaldo will be 36 for next year's champions league campaign.

Time to think about the career in management my boys.

Surely it's the choice of the individual and not the fans?

You're retired for a long time. Why not extend your playing days as long as you can. Best/Davids/and Maradonna seemed to love playing. Can't say the same for Cantona

If you're especially talented at something, I think bowing out at the top of your game is the way to go. It seals your legacy.

Messi will always have the brain of a magician. But the legs ?

Isn't Chris Waddle still doing it?

Quality player who just love playing.

I had heard that Waddle was playing for a Vets team in a Sunday League in Lincolnshire.

I think that's between him and his missus. A bit like their shampoo bill.

rumours of ManUre getting Messi ?

sloppy seconds from Catalunya. He has a maximum of 12 months left assuming he plays only 75 minutes per game.

it would be hilarious if ManUre pay big money for Messi and the transition to the Prem proves catastrophic.

Look at Shevchenko & Di Maria , stranger things have happened.

Depends on how much a player enjoys playing football. I think I'm right in saying that one or two ex Palace players played in the Croydon Sunday League for a little while

Perhaps we could point Tekkers and Wickham in that direction.

Bit of track, but I’d include The Jam
