How has Roy,with his tactics, managed to destroy this once formidable striker???
Big Sam knew how to get the best out of him,but Roy.
Clueless!!

Benteke played 23 games under Allardyce (Including in FA Cup) and scored 9 goals.
I suspect injuries whilst Hodgson has been in charge have played their part.

I believe Giroud would be a good signing but I have not heard he is under consideration.

Oh he certainly would! I'd only be a bit concerned about age, but quality wise it would be a great addition.

Giroud doesnt want leave Chelsea and if he did, he would not come here that's for sure.

I still think Palace will look at Josh Maja.

Hodgson likes experience, so Giroud and Antonio might well appeal to him!
Tammy Abraham on Loan, Callum Wilson ?

Yes,Roy like experience, the older the better!!
He also suits SP's desire for minimum financial outlay with free and loan signings.
Next season, we will have the oldest squad in the Premiership by a country mile, now that Watford have gone.

I wouldn't think so. Giroid seems like the technical center forward who gets in combinations, very similar to center forwards like Benzema and Lewandowski, who rely more on skills than on brute force or speed.

These guys don't run much for their teams, as their team are the ones doing most of the attacking and are largely playing at the wdge of the opposing box. What Palace needs is a young, hard working forward with feet to go box to box and on counter attacks in amatch. I don't think Giroud can play in a medium level team in England with the success he has in Chelsea.

Giroud though, given his advancing years, would appear to fit with Roy's plans for experience being the only thing that really matters.

There is a Turkish club with a hot striker ready to move.

I'm sorry, probably I shouldn't post again what I already posted in the relevant thread, but these are his goals in his best spell, the Villa years.
Please count me how many goals he scored by "playing to his strength by getting crosses in".

Villa may have been his bet years, but I don;t think that his strengths lie there anymore, now he's a bit older. irony Is ,that we really need the villa player, not the player he is now.

Agreed. Maja could be a good fit for us. Great time for a young striker to come in - safe in the knowledge he’s likely to be an improvement on the crap we’ve been used to ( which will help him settle). We’ve seen plenty of lower league goal scorers jump up to the prem and do well once settled - he knows how to hit the target and is young enough to adapt/develop. I’d be pleased with this.
