I would prefer if Roy wants old heads to get them in by way of loan. I’m thinking of quality players that are ageing but with high salaries and therefore impossible for home club to sell. We should recognise them quite easily as we have a few ourselves. I wouldn’t buy any old heads at all, youngsters only please for purchase and by the same thought process as others have mentioned I would not loan any youngsters and warm them up for other teams.

So as much as I would quite like Gallagher it would have to be a purchase for me or don’t bother.

This would a good signing - but I agree NO point in a loan. Honestly I just don’t see Roy giving any youngsters a chance - unless forced into it through injury.

We had 8 games where he could have had a good look at Jairo, Myer ( in attacking CM might be the clever player we’re looking for) , Kirby, Woods and Pierrick without any risk at all.

In fact I wouldn’t restrict his reluctance to change things up to youngsters! This is why I’m leaning towards a change of manager.

One more point

Its catch 22. If he has a great season then Chelsea wont sell or will want a ridiculous fee but if he is bang average and benched a lot he wouldn't have been much use anyway
