Yes, the high st is finished and people realise the hard times ahead so won"t spend spend spend as boris and rishi asked on friday, more important things like keeping a roof over their heads! I saw that super saturday was a flop to, people don"t have the cash to spend £5 a pint in a half empty pub with no bar service and card payment ordering, i think lots of pubs will go with the shops and restaurants to! The youngsters wanted everything now, all strapped up with loans, want a new house to move straight in to, unlike our generation who bought a two bed terrace that was falling down and spent 6 months doing it up, hard times ahead, especially for the younger generations!

I fear you're right.

2020 has been nothing but a bag of pain.

Would we have to spend this £500 in black owned shops?

No, that's just Anthony Joshua.

It's relevant though to also factor in that relatively speaking houses cost over 8 times the average wage now, double that of the mid 90s or earlier when many of us may well have bought. We, through blind luck, were simply in the market at the right time. Young people have been let down by successive governments.

Yeah, right place, right time, i don"t envy them or blame them, going to be very hard to buy a place unless you are a professional now, even hard then, but if you are cannon fodder you have no chance, i think we are going to see tent cities appear in the future, whole roads of tents, like they have in Los Angeles, people living in storm drains, i know they already do here but i mean whole areas, scary times for the young!

Correct. My daughter is a Senior Spacecraft Engineer, having obtained a Master’s degree. She works in Guildford and has had to pay £230000 for a 1 bed 1960s built flat. Her boyfriend is an electrical engineer, they are hoping to buy a house soon but anything decent within reasonable travelling distance will cost them around £400000. My son who lost his job because of lockdown has no chance.
IMO we will go down the same route as other countries and have generations of families sharing houses

Living down here does have some advantages. At least you can see them cry.

Yeah, i think it"s already creeping in, young and not so young still at home with folks, nothing wrong with that if it"s what they want, but if they wanted to fly the nest and can"t then it"s not ideal.
