Universal basic wage cap of £15,000 a year but bonuses uncapped.

Pitch should be changed to double the length but half the width.

Exchange goalposts for jumpers.

Oh and the pitch should be on a 10% slant.

Bring a couple of basketball and rugby rules in:

Five fouls and you are off for the rest of the match but no ban. Stop the serial foulers hopefully.

Once the ball has crossed the half way line it can’t be passed back into your own half which should make for more attacking football.

Yellow cards mean automatic 10 minute sin bin.

Arguing with the referee over a free kick decision results in a 10 yard territory gain to the opposition.

The sin bin is definitely worth considering. They could have an intermediate card for things like kicking the ball away or dissent - two of those equal one yellow.
Ticket prices are high enough without having to watch 11 v 10 because someone has been sent off for a technical offence.
The 10 yard penalty was tried a few years ago but wasn’t used much - there is only a small area where it makes any real difference; maybe 35 to 25 yards out so it needs to be at the attacking team’s discretion since a closer free kick can be harder to get the ball up and down from.

Most if not all pitches are slightly 'domed' in the EPL/EFL/NFL pyramid, this is mainly for drainage, this is why we dont get the brilliant muddy pitches of yesteryear.

Oh, & Teddy Eagle is right, we did indeed have the 10 yard law, trouble was, so many fans & broadcasters hated it.

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.

To comply with fairness, each team should have to field two over 65 year olds

There is a book called The Ugly Game by Martin Calladine contrasting football with the NFL. American football is surprisingly egalitarian; the idea is to stop any one team becoming dominant, hence the draft system. All merchandising is NFL branded and revenue is shared out equally between the teams, except from memory, the Dallas Cowboys who somehow exempt themselves. The wage cap means each team have a maximum amount to spend on wages. If they decide to give one player 75% of it the others have to share what’s left.

Blimey that means we'll have to dump half the team to comply.

I remember an away Subbuteo fixture at Trevor's house circa 1968 where both legs on one side of the table had somehow got broken. The temporary remedy wasn't quite good enough hence the slope on the pitch was approximately 10%. It was a nightmare, but it did lead to an increased usage of one of the 'throw-in figures' [Link] although the other one didn't have much involvement.

Stop teams piling everyone behind the ball.

Make them have two players in the opposition half at all times. Like the oposite to offside. To acount for the offside rule make it that a pass played from your own half cannot result in the player recieving the ball being offside.

Should make the game a lot more attacking.

This happening has almost killed football and made most matches not worth watching on tv for me.

I agree with the 10min in a sin bin for a yellow card
I think when a injured player ( after a foul )who has to leave so should the player who committed foul

Yes Christian Im doing it , ..and teams only allowed 3 touches before they have to cross it !

All footballers must have proper names like Alf, Jimmy, or Bob, and proper hairstyles too. Bonus points for RAF-worthy moustaches.
