For what it's worth, I bought the cheapest new car I could find - Dacia Sandero - and it's a little money well spent IMO. I got my new Dacia Sandero Stepway extreme about 3 weeks ago. They do an auto version but think thats about a grand more.

Hey! I recently traded in my car and found the process pretty easy. I was in a similar situation, looking for a mid-range automatic, and ended up with a Toyota Corolla. It's reliable, has good fuel efficiency, and reasonably priced maintenance costs. The corolla hybrid is how I would go as well. My last company car. Although I would go for the estate for the boot space as the batteries make the hatch boot space very small. When I retired I wanted a RAV 4 AWD as I tow a caravan but they said it was an 18 month lead time!!!!! So I went for a second hand Volvo XC60 (18 plate) just over 3 years ago. Amazing car, but I spoke to someone in service who said that I got the last of the series not made in china and since then the build quality has gone south! I worked for a co. that make wind turbines and they decided to make them in china. Fast forward 3 years and the bearings are failing!!!!!! Had to get a massive loan from their Government to see them though the cost of replacing them. When are they going to learn!!!!

You cant go wrong with a Kia, 7 year warranty, 6 on paintwork, big range of small to big cars

What did you buy in the end? You're probably trading that in now.

With labour reverting to 2030 as the last date to sell new petrol/diesel cars in the UK its going to be fun in the run up to see what happens. This is even going against the EU as they recognised that 2030 was not attainable and now say 2035. There is no way on earth that they will be able to get enough charging points installed in 6 years. Of the 32 million cars in the UK only 1.1million are electric!!!!!! More insanity one week on.

As for a new car, I fancy the new Bentley Continental.
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

The trouble is that the manufacturers will have a cut off for building RHD cars. They can't just change it at the last minute when labour change their minds again at the last minute. They are as thick as a post.
