I should imagine you could play out this season with certain social distancing requirements like an empty seat between each match goer.

You could also make a mask compulsory for entrance.....though that would be weird.

Have to check with the Millwall faithful where they used to get theirs.

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.

We should only reopen sports in a fair and equitable way. So what will happen is: first to re-open will be the expensive, exclusive golf clubs. Probably first event that goes ahead will be something like The Ryder Cup with no spectators except the Corporate sponsors and families of the players.
Then a certain amount of members'stands will open in Horse Racing and Equestrian sports. The Royal Box will open at the odd meeting but no general admission. Slowly, Fox Hunts will get the go ahead.
Football matches will reopen maybe a few months later but only executive boxes will be open this season.
That all seems fair and reasonable for the average person.

This has also got me to thinking how playing in empty stadiums might affect the game.

It's difficult to know just how much the crowd influences players , and come to that, referees, and to what extent will it reduce home advantage?

Will it have a greater effect on some sides performances than others? Will it reduce some of the shenanigans we see, diving and feigning injury, when their is no crowd to validate what is happening?

Without the backdrop of a noisy and partisan crowd it will bring in to sharp relief exactly what is happening on the field of play.

Or having Sir Alex slip some money into your top pocket Over to you Willo

Perhaps one cannot draw certain 'Lockdown' conclusions from comparing nations due to the disparity in area, population etc etc.

Sweden is large geographically but only has a population of around 10 Million which is not that much greater than the population of London.
New Zealand had been mentioned in some posts and their population is under 5 Million.

It annoys me when people use NZ as an example. Very low population of which many are rural. They also have only a small percentage of international flights compared to the UK. Not having a go at NZ good luck to them but we shouldn’t be compared to them

That’s a relief. I thought they were all actual surgeons.

I'd say that this is a good assessment of how it'll pan out. It's easier to bring back certain sports, whereas I doubt we'll be seeing football crowds in full force until 2021.

I hope that broadcasters have stored their recordings of Palace Crowds chants and comments safely to add to broadcasts of closed doors matches. Am looking forward to a VAR decision for Palace being followed by "same old ............ always cheating" among others.

If not try West Ham apparently they like to beef up the atmosphere like the Germans do in Escape to Victory
"and the crowd goes wild" says the man turning the knob.

Perhaps, in the internet age, F-Troop (or Millwall Bushwackers) on-line.com?

Under 5000 points - London Stadium, or another that is too big for the club?
