I watched Uncle Vanya last week, and even stayed up to 12:30 to see the end. Beautifully acted and it kept my attention right through. It was also very refreshing to see a "play" on television with just the single stage location and no production trickery.

'This Sporting Life'. Set around the trials and tribulations of a Rugby League player and starring Richard Harris. An absolute delight and in my opinion the greatest Sports themed film ever made and I write that as somebody who cannot stand Rugby. Just broached 'The Fall of the Roman Empire' by Peter Heather and am over-dosing on a variety of Stoic themed talks and lectures on You Tube.
Great film , gritty kitchen sink drama, its always worth a trawl through talking pictures , " Out" a brilliant, bleak early crime drama series is on it at the moment
