A while back, on another thread, I explained how I had always been Labour - as I don't deny my working class roots - but could no longer support them (and stopped voting for them). A poster on here (can't remember if it was Tom the Eagle or Teddy Eagle), put me on to Blue Labour. I want to say thanks. It has actually renewed my interest in politics. I find their policies resonate with me. Basically, they want to represent the true working class families Labour used to attract. They want an end to the progressive sh1t and identity politics. They stand up for free speech within the party and the right to criticise elements of society people have suddenly decided are beyond reproach. They may be small at present but I hope their ideas eventually replace the current looney fake left progressive crap that Labour keeps spouting currently. They highlight exactly how Labour are losing support. Here is a link to Blue Labour for whoever is interested - a lot to like for many on here I believe. A lot of her constituents will have had similar experiences, except for the being harassed by the press and living in a 700k house part.

Whist naturally more right leaning, I also support much of what the left have traditionally stood for. Labour these days however serves nobody except the middle class elite and minorities. To me what summed this up more than anything else was when Gordon Brown was PM and he was asked about immigration levels from a concerned elderly labour voter lady and he then accused her of being racist! That said, having read the link I can see where you are both coming from.

Whist naturally more right leaning, I also support much of what the left have traditionally stood for. Labour these days however serves nobody except the middle class elite and minorities.

I mentioned Blue Labour a while ago so maybe that was it. I heard Maurice Glasman on the radio and was very impressed with what he had to say. He sounded like a traditional Labour man rather than the current incarnation.
