Wonder what their reaction would have been if instead of leaving his wife of 26 years, the mother of his children, for other men, he had gone off with a 22 year old bimbo?

Double standards I bet!

Double standards on steroids.

As Douglas Murray says in his book....gay isn't really seen as equal, it's actually seen as a little bit better.

Having just seen a picture of Mrs Schofield I think I’d have turned gay

I don't care if Phillip Scholfield is gay. He can be whatever he likes (well, almost). But I'm sick to death of celebs pouring their hearts out on the telly. It's on the front page of nearly every newspaper, it's on the tv, it's ridiculous. A second rate tv presenter getting huge publicity and celebrity hugs for what? I suggest he might like to interview that tedious Welsh ex-rugby player who is constantly bleating on about being gay.

Talk about snowflakes. Give it a rest!

Exactly I don't care if he is gay or not and in fairness he acknowledge the pain he has caused his wife and family.

My issue is with the idiot celebrities who tweeted their support / welcome to the club / let's celebrate stuff.

This will probably wreck his marriage especially when the stories surface of his secret lovers comes out, which no doubt the tabloids are busily trawling for.

If he was straight and dumping his wife for a younger model there would be faux outrage.

Anyway my sympathy is for his family they will now have to come to terms with this it's a pity that the useless tweeters don't recognise her pain.

Looks as though the line ‘My hand wasn’t forced’ could be the nonsense many have suspected.

Reports already surfacing stating that allegedly he’d been seeing a young studio runner at This Morning but has had to go public because he was about to be exposed via the press, now that their relationship has hit the buffers.

I suspect either an injunction or two being hastily taken out or a fairly large exposé which will see a lot of Phillips support and sympathy evaporate rather quickly.
