Ban the koran

Stop accepting the lack of integration and lack of respect for national values. Stop accepting immigrants who add nothing of value to the country - carte blanche - no matter where they are from. Have more rigorous discussions with the existing Islamic community - why do they tolerate this blatant disregard for the rule of law? That would be a starting point. None of which will be done.

I see myself as centre right but this thread so far been very right wing! I think the key is not banning a book- hundreds of millions of people read it and practice their religion peacefully. However, we need to examine what turns individuals to extremism. What puts them at risk and then start to bridge the gap. Not all Muslims or individuals of any religion become terrorists so we need to find out the reason as to why some do. And then stop it.

As for divisions - they are caused by communities not integrating. Stopping more pointless immigration lessens divisions and creates greater cohesion amongst existing society. This is hardly right wing. Left politics said people would integrate - some have, fair enough, but a lot haven't - the promised integration hasn't happened and has been given up on. There are no new integration programmes as it all didn't work.

You are repeating the script of the last thirty years. Haven't you been reading the clues yet? The idea that the right jigsaw piece is out there is seriously deluded. OK, here's how to stop Islamic extremism. Convert the country to Sunni Islam.....and run your foreign policy by the Mosques before you implement it. Otherwise that jigsaw piece is never going to quite fit fella......and that demographic grows each and every year.

So do we also ban The Bible, the Torah,all sacred texts across world religions. Have you ever read the Koran? (As opposed to reading what someone else says it says/means distilled through the lens of their own viewpoint.) It is no more radical, no more open to interpretation than any other religious text. You can read any book and find something in it to object to politically, morally or otherwise. Why not ban all books? Maybe take the ones we don't like to a big square and burn them? Oh hang on someone tried that once didn't they?
