Just a thought. Do Palace pay his non league club any decent compensation? It occurs to me that there is an untapped market we could exploit. Rather than poaching talent with no or little compensation why not tell clubs we will pay a decent sum if we sign them, based on success of course. So a non league club discovers a little gem and realises that Charlton are sniffing around. The club think we're going to lose this guy anyway why not contact Palace and see if they are interested at least we'll get decent compensation. We could become the go to club for promising youngsters from the non leagues. It can't be that easy can it? Or are we just like other clubs happy to rob the little guy and then complain when Bostock is poached from us.

Just think. In years to come we'll be saying this was the best ever transfer window when JRB turns into the next VVD and Scott Banks becomes the next Andy Robertson
