Well, I was going to say it was a pity he couldn't do the same when he was playing for us. He scored two goals in 26 appearances, and missed a string of great chances in the playoff final v Watford.
Good luck to him though. And good that Newcastle are now tied up in a cup replay.

Always put in 100% in a team that was pulled together from scratch on a shoe string. Very pleased for him.

Hard to believe really he was part of that promotion winning team but hey he done a job for us... he was a handful and always gave 100%.. Well done Wilbs!!

We could play the same shape post Murray's injury thanks to Wilbs - that helped a lot in my view.

If Rochdale holding Newcastle to a draw didn't make me chuckle enough, the icing on the gingerbread was Aaron Wilbraham getting Rochdale their goal at 40. Despite his limitations, he always gave his all for Palace. Couldn't be more pleased to see a little late sunshine in his career.

For me he changed the tie in the semis against the weed, Murray at that point looked tired and ineffective, then got injured. Wilbs bullied them allowing others to play.

Good ol Wilbs, he could certainly hang on to the football and frustrate the enemy.

Incidentally, that's a very impressive beard he's sporting these days!

Seems like a trillion years ago but Wilbs was in the Stockport side that we beat in that crunch relegation match in which Dougie scored the late winner.

As I recall (but I may be wrong), Clinton Morrison also played and Steve Kember was the manager.

I think Kolinko was our keeper.

Was it Dougie or Ollie who signed Wilbs for Palace?
