This is the view of IFAB.

I suspect there will be changes next season.

Indeed the article mentions that "Clear and obvious" does not apply to offsides but pundits have asserted that when they went to Stockley Park in pre-season for an explantion they were provided with handouts specifying "Clear and obvious". Chris Kamara at the weekend referred to his handout and didn't mention that offsides were excluded.A great deal of confusion reigns.

It seems to be the FA’s interpretation of offside rather than the official line. As you say, confusion reigns.

Not really a reply but interesting. .. Jurgen Klopp basically says that having a goal wrongly disallowed actually helped Wolves. And we believed him . amazing.
My idea?I think it's the law that's wrong here. I think it should be feet that are offside;feet and legs.Having torso offside just disadvantages forwards who are trying to lean forward to be on the front foot to get some momentum.

Head and feet are primary scoring parts.
Not many bum or chest goals in.
These two offside would be sufficient.

And why aren't they looking at the screens?

Basically our refs are just doing their own thing and it's not helping improving decisions in certain areas like offside.

Correct.

If the head and/or feet [foot] is over the line. The end. Simples.

Arm pit, torso, knee, elbow... complete nonsense foot and/or head. Choose one and stick with it. If it is not clear then its a goal.

It need not be so complicated. I agree with VAR because some if not most of our referees and linesman are; A) Incompetent; and/or B) biased (Martin Atkinson et al); and/or C) make genuine errors. VAR should and can eliminate these issues. The principle is a great idea as it makes it 'fair'. It is the incompetent and arrogant application that is poor.

If they decide on heads we’ll see strikers all running about like Michael Johnson while defenders have their hands behind their back like Prince Charles on a walkabout.

I don't think that IFAB will change the offside law.
It is more likely that VAR will resort to "Clear and obvious" rather than a forensic examination determining whether a player is offside by the length of a toe using technology that is being questioned for it's degree of accuracy.

I dont like WH but I think they were harsh for dissalowing their goal last night.
How can you run with your arms down by your side.

To be fair, VAR got it right last night. It’s the ridiculous new hand ball rule which was the issue. ‘Clear and obvious’ has to be introduced.

I’m just completely sick of it. People now celebrate VAR decisions in their favour and can’t actually properly celebrate goals being scored. All we read about is VAR rather than match analysis.

I’d rather it was just scraped completely as it’s taking a lot enjoyment out of football. Referee injustice is part of the game and can effect the stadium atmosphere in a good way. I’ve always believed the bad decisions will even themselves out over a season.

Correct to the law yes but tbh even rice didnt compute at the time that he had done anything out of the ordinary
Last night Oliver should have looked at the screen.
He did for Lukas red.

Great to see the protest banner from the HF today. Hopefully other fans will see and produce similar.

It worked in our favour today, but that doesn’t cover up the continued farce. 2 mins 33 seconds to make the decision apparently.
