Did you read that Jurgen Klopp quote online Willo or has the Liverpool manager been personally briefing you on his progress?

All I will assert is that I have no recollection whatsoever of perusing such a quote from Klopp online.

Roy has basically told him to look elsewhere.

Odd statement if true. Not like we don't already have a number of recently signed players who don't get game time, lol. I'd be happy with just one signing in Jan who will defo get into the 1st team. If we don't have the cash to do this then why bother ?

Rated very highly at Liverpool and was top scorer in U17 World Cup when England won it.

This would be incredibly exciting if we had a chance of keeping him long term, but we don't, so I'm inclined to agree with those questioning the point. Unless he were to score 10 - 15 goals for us, then we're just showing him what it's like to be around a first 11 environment, only for Liverpool to reap the rewards later.

If we're going to do that, why not give Nya Kirby a chance, or Kian Flanegan, or Jason Lokilo. We accidentally unearthed a £45m right-back when forced to blood a youngster.

Our whole recruitment and development structure really frustrates me. 7 years in the Premier League and we don't seem to have any better infrastructure. I worry the wheels will fall off our aging squad over the next two years, a la Tottenham this year. Except we won't drop to 14th and hire Mourinho, we'll drop to 20th like Watford, Swansea, Stoke...

Has he or has he told Parish and Freedman not to waste their time and money on this one as he won't play him

Perhaps, if we loan Brewster, Liverpool will give us one of their holding midfielders. That could persuade Roy.

Thinking back to Hodgson's time at Fulham, he signed either on Loan or permanently, or indeed played players he had not signed who were somewhat advanced in years football wise.I am thinking of Stalteri and Kallio who I think were nearing 30 when he signed them on loan.Dacourt was nearly mid 30s and Gera was in his 30s.Other players he had at Fulham were Nevland,Litmanen and McBride who were all in their 30s.
At WBA he signed Keith Andrews and Gareth McAuley who were in their early 30s.
For us he signed Cahill and Sako both in their 30s.
Hodgson does have a proclivity to rely on experienced players.

Sako had the look and feel of a Parish / Freedman signing to me

I'm confused.... Who are these three 'quality players' we have up front then that Roy is going on about??

Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!!

Sounds like Roy has already been told if we want him he has to start every match

How can we agree to that. He might prove not up to it
