I think we are talking about proper referees mate, those in the Premier league games, not Sunday in the park.....I challenge you to prove that you dont show any of those traits!!

Proper referee's ? anyone who walks out to referee a game whether it be at local park, league or Non league has been on the basic course, and is a proper referee and without them the grass roots game would be non existent.

It's all to easy to blame the referee for a teams loss or crap performance, not to mention the abuse that they are on the end of both verbal and physical. I don't have to prove anything to you as you're the one making the accusation, and to be honest why in the name of homer simpson would I show favouritism to one bunch of pissed up pub players to another ?

When the referee is as bad as Atkinson was, booking players for things he couldnt possibly have seen...ie.he guessed and as it was Wilf, who he hates, he booked him. Therefore all and any vitriol is totally deserved, especially as he went on to fail to book several Watford players for fouls deserving of yellow at least and red in more than one occasion.....hardly the same as you reffing a game on Purley Way/Duppas Hill where there is no money involved is it?? With the amount of money in football and betting on football its not beyond belief that corruption may rear its ugly head and who better than the referee to faciltate that ? Give it time and it will be exposed, trust me

Gussy Gates, wow that brings back memories......playingh a game at Duppas Hill, opposition attacking, Gussy blows his whistle and stops the game....many puzzled players....Gussy runs (well as near as he gets to running) to the player with the ball, and restarts the game.with a dropped ball....when asked why he stopped it, he replies..' I just needed to catch up with you all'.....Priceless!!

Wasn't it Duppas Hill that was on a bit of a slope - could explain why he got more puffed that usual

no the pitches at the top were good and flat, so too the ones near the school playing fields......Purley Way had some slopey pitches.....think he was puffed out cos he was about 70!

Bournemouth are about to kick over a hornets nest.

[Link]

If Moss is found guilty of making remarks to a player I suspect that the referees will close ranks and say okay what's good for the goose....

Players give officials abuse all the time and yet the poor shrinking violets can't take it when it comes the other way.

I can see a lot more players getting booked for mouthing off, well done Bournemouth.

Bearing in mind, that, believe it or not, referee's are human. You are right when you say that B/mouth have opened a hornets nest, its only what players have been saying for years when they don't get their own way with decisions.

What will most likely happen, is refs remember & that certain players will now have their cards marked incl our own Wilf, who is seen as a serial 'whinger'. B/mouth, along with certain other clubs, will find decisions go against them, just 'because'.

Unfair - Yes, Legal(within the laws of the game} - Yes There is a phrase within Law 12(willo will confirm) 'If In The Referees Opinion' I really hope someone 'educates' Wilf & the rest of the squad.

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.

I did such a course many years ago and todays refs just don't follow what were the basics back then of running the diagonals and the positions they should take up at corners ,free kicks ect .
In short they don't do themselves any favours in being in the best position to get their own game in order . Maybe its all changed and the powers to be have given different instructions to refs but sometimes I look at situations and see the ref not being able to make a correct decision because they are not in the right place

Law 12 includes the wording "If in the opinion of the referee" in relation to indirect free kicks.
