England predictions? Semi-final or better? The intensity of England's game at the moment is incredible, but I think it's going to be difficult to maintain it over a tournament without suffering a lot of injuries. Also, I hate Farrell, countless games have shown he's thick as s*** and can't adapt to changes in the game. A week 9, 10, and 12 is going to be a real issue for England.

Youngs/Ford/Farrell or Youngs/Farrell/Tuilagi are both world class options. And to have the ability to turn to both is great.

8 hours in front. I'm a pedant. I said that our kick-off times - said by the OP to be 'weird' - were 8 hours behind Japan, which is correct.

I didn't watch opening ceremony or first match. I won't get to see match tomorrow either. Of course, I will be drinking early Sunday (but working Monday). I presume Ireland and England will win Sunday but I would like to see the Scots play well. Any reports/ opinions on match appreciated.

Picking Farrell at 12 is a good decision. Farrell f***ed up against Scotland by not being able react when Scotland changed the game plan, he's done it in countless other games too. Poor discipline too. Youngs is getting too old. Would rather have Murray and Sexton any day of the week.

It looks to be a very open tournament this year, so let's home one or more of the home teams show what they're made of.

It was good to see Japan win the opener too. Not the most physically imposing team of course but it's good for the competition that they opened with a win. I don't fancy their chances against Ireland mind you.

Why are the kick-off times 'weird', OP? Sure; they are 8 hours behind Japan, as you'd expect, but why is that 'weird'? The times fall quite well, compared to some of the 'wake up at 3am for the game' match times of the past.

I heard Australia had a bit of a scare against Fiji - interesting news for England. All Blacks and Springboks can do us a favour by killing each other today.
