I have no idea whether she was paid or not but she definitely took the day off. I suppose that she could have been winding me up as she did have a good sense of humour

The cat is dead now and we don't want to dredge up bad memories for the poor dear owner. They may need more time off.

My gf's sister took the day off because her cat was ill....perfectly normal behaviour!
