I must admit I never witnessed any fracas at all.I was in the stand opposite and at the end of the game witnessed Grealish in an irate mood being restrained by his manager and Terry hugging his erstwhile Chelsea colleagues PVA and Cahill.I then made my way to the lounge and didn't hear anybody talking about any unsavoury incidents.

I haven't seen the incident on the pitch on television so cannot comment but Grealish does seem to spend quite a lot of time on the turf.I of course saw the ball enter the net but then witnessed the referee indicating a foul so I was somewhat relieved !

Showed footage of the fracas on NBC Sports this afternoon. Some folks must have really peed off a particular police officer with a truncheon. He was whacking indiscriminately, totally lost it. It was shocking to see. That individual should be investigated for totally unexceptable behaviour, enroll in anger management and find another line of work.

Sounds like good policing to me , I wish they would show more of it to the scum wielding knife carries of Croydon.

Yep, having a bunch of angry supporters cornering you right by the family area and throwing punches at you does tend to piss our police offers off. As for 'indiscriminate' whacking with the truncheon - the only things shown on the video was that ONE officer used his stick on the back of the legs of the one man who refused to back off. Good job we don't have armed police at matches eh?

Apparently news spread at final whistle that their day out had finished and they had to go back to Birmingham.

I’d of kicked off if someone told me that.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

To go back to the original Express quote, recycled by the BBC, this is far from "angry crowd scenes" which suggests some kind of mass protest. It was a small group of Villa supporters causing a ruck. I thought the stewards contained it well, together with the police, apart from the use of the baton.

"Angry crowd scenes" also validates the protests over Friends' decision. I thought it was a debatable but understandable call that could have gone either way. I suspect Friend focused mostly on Grealish's trailing foot and may also have been aware of his reputation for diving. We were lucky to get a 50:50 call, just as we were v Manure last week.

Last year most of the 50:50 calls at the start of the season went against us. Let's hope that things don't even up against us later this season!

A bunch of wannabe Peaky Blinders, like Grealish himself.

Not sure what they wanted. Did they think that running on the pitch would make the ref change his mind? Shows that the drugs really don't work.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

One other thing: it's all Tekkers' fault. If he had held up the ball, instead of taking a hopelessly optimistic shot that led to their goal kick that led to the Grealish incident, none of this would have happened.

They should. I’ve seen some met police in a fish and chip shop recently and some look like the children picked on at school or they haven’t had a row in their life. No wonder youth crime is up. Nothing to fear.
