Nah, enjoy it whilst it lasts, when we go a goal up, we don;t forego celebrating in case the opposition scores. Brighton fans are hilarious though. Referring to Southampton as "no points Southampton", they thought the points were in the bag today. Funny old game. There's a world of difference between celebrating a discreet victory and using that, so far, one off to denigrate those who rightly had concerns about the games that went before. Also, you need to reconcile the dichotomy between the point made in your first and second sentences.
Bexley Dave Can you hear the Brighton sing? I can't hear a ******* thing! "The most arrogant, obnoxious bunch of deluded little sun tanned, loafer wearing mummy's boys I've ever had the misfortune of having to listen to" (Burnley forum) |

Another magnificent effort away from home. SP struck gold with this managerial appointment. Every time the doubts creep in he pulls something out of the bag. The likes of Kelly and Schlupp have been branded as rubbish in previous years but he’s got huge improvement out of the some of the squad players.

This thread should not have been started. Apart from the 'one swallow does not' cliche, it still does not excuse the travesty last week. We should be allowed to enjoy this amazing performance and result without the 'told you so' merchants. Neither does last week's travesty define our season. That's the point of the thread.
Cynic or realist? It's a fine line! |

Whilst I am delighted with the 3 points, I didn’t count this match as much proof before and don’t to an extent after. It proves there’s still effort and care in what they’re doing. We still need to not play 3 def mids, play with a bit of width and don’t wait for the opposition to get all set up when the oppo are vulnerable when we’re playing at home or any team outside of the top 6. Great effort by Roy and the team though. I did my bit by not watching because we usually do well vs the top 6 when I don’t watch. Glad to see Benteke benched and Ayew given a crack, who I’ve felt is dangerous with open spaces around him. I’m interested in this impressive hold up play because it’s been regularly shyte up till now. Well done lads. Equal possession instead of 20% vs villa next to prepare for. Different game. Anyone ready to jump down my throat. Roy has just said on radio 5, ‘Colchester and Villa will be completely different and they’ll be looking to do some of what we’ve done to Man Utd and it will require a different skill set to today.’ Edited by Rudi Hedman (24 Aug 2019 5.33pm) Edited by Rudi Hedman (24 Aug 2019 5.33pm) My concern is Villa, great result today and everyone put in a shift but we will have to break Villa down, something we seem incapable of doing....Camarasa??

This is painful. First time we’ve beaten united in Pl history and the board is full of people moaning and trying to justify their (mainly wrong) opinions by deflecting onto the next game against Villa. Think you seriously need to have a look at yourselves or find another “hobby” There’s no place for words like dichotomy on a football forum after we’ve beaten Man Utd away.

Needs to start with a more attacking midfield against Villa, give them no respect and go hell for leather. COYP !!
