I hate to be argumentative on this thread but... I do think over time people come to appreciate others, just not their view points. So the opinions polarise but maybe not all the people do. After all, there is no Sherlock without a Moriarty. That's your better nature speaking though. It's commendable and virtuous to have that aspect to your character, but the hard lesson in life is that not everyone does. But yes, I take your point that it's certainly possible to be at odds politically and get along really well with someone. It's more about respecting difference as much as it is arguing points. Many on here will recall that I was the human dartboard on HOL,tarred and feathered, thrown into the pestle and mortar and pummelled.Gladitorial hostility was aimed at me and persistant ordure heaped upon me which resulted in those darned 'Willo Threads' which certainly did not add value to this cherished site.Certainly the 'Referees' threads were awash with fire and brimstone hurled in my direction. I was labelled amongst other things an 'Attention seeker' and anyone who knows me will vouch for the fact that I certainly don't come into that category.I consistently argued that I was far more self-deprecation than self-promotion and I continue in this vein. Despite the ad-hominem attacks, I like to believe that I acted with comportment and I certainly did not gallivant down the alley whereby I resorted to personal insults as a substitute for mature and reasoned debate. Thankfully the 'Willo threads' are now just history and I can honestly assert I bear no grudges or ill-will to all those who took it on themselves to hurl personal abuse in my direction.
