If you consider it, the state prosecutor was telling the truth. There was no evidence of a deliberate act the day after the fire. No one had looked for any so there wasn't any. The elephant in the room is elephants; firstly, there have been Islamic attacks on Christian sites. I believe there was a heightened official threat issued in Europe. I suppose it is possible. There have also been widespread, protests, demonstrations and riots from the yellow vests. They have, in cases, used fire as a weapon. However, it would be hard to see any point in burning down the cathedral. The third area of France that has caused civil problems and violent clashes has been homelessness and illegal immigration. This has produced widespread tent accommodation in Paris. It so happens that many camp around religious sites. There do seem to have been encampments around Notre Dame. I must say though, that with Notre Dame, the most likely cause seems accidental; it's an old building with nooks and crannies, poor electrics and plenty of old wood. I should think they will eventually explain the cause. Or will they?

Wouldn't that require a theory to be proposed? I'm putting out questions as to how the state have responded to the event and I'm suspicious of their motives. As to the cause of the fire, I'm not putting forward any theory....that's partly the point....we should know by now.
When Dan implied that you are incorrect when you state you are not one for conspiracy theories, it does appear to me that was relevant to the thread innit. We can then read the thread in the knowledge that you are somewhat suspicious, almost superstitious.

Latest reports coming from Paris say that police wish to question a suspect who was seen leaving the vicinity around the time of the fire. He's been described as a mature white male, deaf and walks with a stoop.

It's almost like the building was nearly 1,000 years old, the fire decimated a large part of it, along with probably most clues as to what actually started it, they had to make it structurally safe before any one could even safely enter that part of it to start working out what happened, and any salvageable part of it they are going to painstaking lengths to try and preserve.

So you are suggesting there may be a conspiracy, let's call that suggestion a theory. We can then read the thread in the knowledge that you are somewhat suspicious, almost superstitious. My words are my words, not your words. You are hardly one to talk about conspiracies....You're the one on here who suggested that the Jews created IQ tests to favour themselves......which was amusingly also a Nazi conspiracy contention from the thirties. Perhaps you picked it up from all that Al Jazeera you watch. Edited by Stirlingsays (12 Aug 2019 3.17pm)

Perhaps, perhaps not. Besides this doesn't even address the issues I've stated.,,,didn't you even read the post?

You create your own non-issues which don't warrant addressing.

Don't you think it's a teeny bit odd that they were so quick to dismiss all possibilities so quickly? And don't you think it's more odd still that the cause still hasn't been determined and revealed? Bloody rum, I call it, and you don't need to be a rampant, paranoid conspiracy theorist to think so, either. Edited by Cucking Funt (12 Aug 2019 3.40pm)
