I believe that we were linked with him before he left
Peterborough for Forest, for £5m. My Boro mate thinks hes not bad but not quite prem quality. Needs good service; does put himself about. As Mattteo has said, all the players he's pointed out & we going for him.

The top 10 all time scorers in the Championship, all in the last 10 years have all flopped when moving up to the Premier.

So, he doesn’t seem a good option.

Including Patrick Bamford for those with short memories

Not good option but I believe Burnley’s strikers cane with them from the championship and have done well? ,As has (gulp) a certain Glen Murray! I actually respect Hodgson’s judgement so fingers crossed it will work out

But haven't we got Ayew for that?

Yes but Assombolonga is a bigger version.

they are not similar at all , one is a busy utility forward who has never really nailed down a postion , and the other is an out and out goalscorer , whether he can make the step up remains to be seen.

Apart from the one Twitter comment that Beger The Bot posted I haven't seen any other links at all to this story so hopefully it's just rubbish
