Myself and my son are season ticket holders, today he wanted to take his girlfriend to her first ever football game. I bought tickets in main stand as on-line I couldn't buy for Holmesdale. I won't comment on the s**t served up on the pitch but feel the need to highlight the following:
Went into the ground early to get the "match experience". It was always our intention to buy food in the ground and soak up the atmosphere;
1) Went into Stephenson lounge no chips were available. Now bear in mind their were many young kids at the game>
2) Could not accrue Parish points as there was an IT issue.
3) The pre-match music had to be curtailed due to ridiculous feed back:
4) Loud drilling from the upper Holmesdale (have they not had since early May to work on the ground?)
5) Up to an hour before KO workman painting the steps in the Upper Holmesdale.
People may find these points trivial but I feel it makes the club look pathetic

Maybe the coffers really are bare. All seem things a bit of finance ought to sort.

We are experts at creating a shambles of everything. You can bet your life the first home game will be pretty much the same along with 85 degrees of heat...

As many have said before me, we really are tin pot. Love the club but we are the poor relations of the league. Dump of a ground, awful match day experience. Complete imbalance in the playing squad. Massively leveraged ourselves with the wage bill just to get players to join us. Just cannot see any of this changing. I hope there’s something going on behind the scenes. We need a rescue plan.

Having said I’ll be in the same seat I’ve had for the last 16 years on Saturday. Nothing will change that. Ptid.

Absolute rubbish - I took my grandson what an awful baptism for him. Team had no energy and no clue how to score.....Benteke and Ayew - more like Dumb and Dumber

Everything around the club at the moment screams half arsed and unambitious

Lower Holmesdale. Always get in early, most games last season, no chips were available until about 10-15 minutes after gates opened. Maybe you can also explain why, the early bird offer was only available from 45 minutes before KO! Isn't that a contradiction in terms, we have never been able to take advantage of it. It should be renamed late bird offer!!

Perhaps we should ask Parish to up the cost of the season tickets to £1000 which is what my Arsenal friends have to pay. Whilst I'm anxious about the lack of signings, the ground conditions aren't something that I can get hot under the collar about. I'd rather we spend some money on the playing side at the cost of having a poor burger experience

Years ago I once had a really bad experience on a Saturday evening after a dodgy sausage outside Stamford Bridge. True! Lucky it wasn’t up the Arsenal.

It’s so long since I’ve had a proper drink in the ground, I didn’t realise you need to re-mortgage your house to get a round in. That’s my only complaint

There is one reason for this. The club is running out of cash.

The ownership structure which is now in place where a series of service companies including lots owned by Parish and the Yanks needs feeding and with no money coming in over the summer the cash to fund basic maintenance etc, simply was not there.

From what I gather the huge sums we get in are needed simply now to tread water which is why we are not signing anyone and our usually vocal chairman is somewhat quiet.

We will aa ever aim for survival as if we fail in that endeavour I suspect we will have severe cashflow problems.

But if the club was better organised then they would make more money. I bet we rank really low on match day income. Obviously Burnley and Bournemouth will be lower. No one else would be. Sheffield United perhaps but they will up their game to Premier League standard whilst we are probably a below average championship set up in so many ways. We simply have not grown much in many areas - the other is merchandise. We need a high street store to stock our stuff. You can buy Everton and Watford, why not Palace? At least I haven't seen Brighton tops in stores.
