im sure would have got him for approx £8m last summer before the world cup, he was pinpointed as one to watch pre-tournament.

Yes, it does, but the second link is pretty much the same position, just named "attacking midfielder" on the site, even though there was still just 1 more player more advanced than him. Combined, the 2 give a decent return of the player in that position, but too few matches to say for sure that he can keep up or improve. He just played like 9 matches there in the last year. In conclusion, I think that ASM can play well as right wing (though he's right footed and would not cut inside to let the right back advance and cross) and can also cover as second striker and left wing. But Ismaila Sarr can play equally well on both sides of the pitch and cover with great results as center forward and second striker, so that's 4 positions he knows very well. Plus that I've seen him in the Europe League matches and he looks very fit and tall and slim and ready to run back and help, while ASM looks a bit too bulk, kind of like Adama Traore, with good sprints for short distances, but lack of coming back in defence, more like a skilled player than a useful one. Sarr also has the numbers on his side. At a similar price, the better choice would be Ismaila Sarr. Though I think there are similar players at a better price than even Sarr. Well I guess we'll just have to wait and see. Hopefully one of them will end up at Palace though I won't hold my breath. But if they did it would compliment our attack nicely with Wilf still in it and help compensate for his departure...which hopefully won't be this season. Edited by samprior (29 Jul 2019 5.43pm)

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Ismaila Sarr (Rumour) ' by Midlands Eagle Supposedly competing with Watford for his signature as a replacement for Wilf. An exciting option, only 21 and another tricky winger with flair and pace, and you’d have to argue a better option than Alan saint maxim. Very, very late in the window though due to some choice operations by parish and co. Don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes but chances of getting this fella, Chalov and a replacement rb in by 5pm look slim. Danny Simpson it is.

Looks like are are indeed in for Sarr. I believe Palace have expressed interest before so not entirely new. Oh, and the small matter of a striker and an RB? ‘Good’ to know the traditional Palace panic up to 459pm is back on!

If Zaha really is off to Everton, we could afford to be realistic bidders maybe £25m? No doubt parish will roll out his tried and true method of bidding as low as possible even when the heat is on. A good player, and this wouldn’t be a bad person to be linked with on the final day, if we weren’t already in the trenches trying to pull a rb and a striker out of the bag from overseas. Very curious about what will have happened come 5pm

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Ismaila Sarr (Rumour) ' by Midlands Eagle Would be an incredible signing and perfect replacement. Problem is, for me. We need minimum a centre forward and right back regardless of whether Wilf goes or not. And I just can’t see us signing 3 players today and selling Wilf.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Ismaila Sarr (Rumour) ' by Midlands Eagle SSN reporting Sarr to Watford looking increasingly unlikely: BREAKING NEWS Sky sources understand the deal to take Ismaila Sarr to Watford is looking increasingly unlikely. The clubs, as it stands, can’t agree on a price with Rennes, who are asking for more than £30m. We understand Watford have a valuation and will not overpay.
