I know what he did was very wrong and he should rightly be punished but I think 18 years is a bit steep, especially as he is obviously a bit doolally tap.

I understand you point here.....I think he's sentence is partly a reflection upon the damage done....not only by him directly but by the institutions that believed him.

He's serving a sentence that incorporates that and it's probably projection and hence a form of deflection......it isn't good enough to just blame the fruitcake....a fruitcake is always going to be a fruitcake.

There's also the possibility that this is a fit up of the most titanic proportions.

Did he get too close to the truth, and did 'The Establishment' conspire to put him well and truly in his place?

I'm a little uncomfortable with it, to be honest.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

Well, they are a bit short staffed...

''14 London boroughs have vacancy rates of over 6%, with five facing double digit deficits. Harrow is shown to have the highest percentage of vacancies, with 15% of its sergeant and constable posts unfilled. Waltham Forest had the highest overall number, with 72 vacancies from a force of 664.''

And yet the "wondeful' Mr Khan has control over his own police budget, yet wastes more money on PR, and employing even more people on over 100k a year.

always a Norwood boy, where ever I live.

I was waiting for someone to say it.

This is exactly how you would expect 'the establishment' to discredit and dispose of a threat.

I don't know enough about it and I guess none of us do. In the interest of consistency 18 years seems a lot when murderers might only serve ten and rapists a year or two. That is a bit of a red flag to me.

It's an utterly nuclear solution to a problem. Bears all the hallmarks of a hatchet job.

No I didnt think so.

It would depend on whether I did it or not but false accusations do deserve to be prosecuted.
