At the moment many big decisions need to be made, Parish may well enhance his reputation or look a complete chump.Wilf is likely to go and we will need to see a few canny purchases in order to stay in the Prem. For me the jury is out.

A lot of positives :

Took over the club when we were in Adminstration and we are now in the PL having spent 6 seasons in the PL, more than we had ever done before in the top flight.

From Adminstration to an FA Cup final.

Appointed Pulis when we were 19th with only 7 pts after 12 games and he led us to survival.

Appointed Pardew when we were 18th with 17 pts after 20 games and he kept us up.

Appointed Hodgson and he kept us up despite losing the first 7 games in the PL and without scoring a single goal and we were favourites for the dreaded drop.

Of course supporters will highlight negatives but on this lovely day, weather wise, I thought I would highlight the sunshine !

I wouldn't say I'm anti Parish, but I do think he's all piss and wind. As I've said many times on here, I don't believe for one minute that the new stand is likely to happen during his tenure. He seems to come up with these sort of things to massage his own ego, and gain adoration.

And what he has done in accommodating the HF at the cost of loyal, long standing supporters is wrong in my view.

He saved the club, fair enough. But it doesn't mean he can't be criticised when it's warranted.

All chairmen are c***s. Russian oligarchs, Arabian snobs, crooked Englishmen, clueless Jewish Americans, Italian Mafiosos, exiled Orientals. Some people act like if we get rid of Parish we're going to end up with some kind of saviour who's going to risk his livelihood to get us to the next step.

My biggest bugbear with Parish is that the second something goes well he's everywhere, twitter, radio, sky, Susanna Reid.

The second something isn't looking so rosy, he's nowhere to be seen, no comment, nothing.

I'd have much more respect for him if he just came out and was honest in either set of circumstances, enjoy the good moments and face the bad moments head on like a man.

Had after the whole AWB transfer, he'd come out and said look we've sold him because of this, this and this reason, you'd understand and respect it.

If we now sign someone or he paints a pillar in the Arthur, he'll be everywhere telling you how amazing it is. You can't have it both ways.

I don't expect him to come out and tell us every little bit of info and potentially harm our ability to negotiate by saying we're reinvesting the whole AWB money, but at least be balanced in your approach to negative and positive news.

Very true, this annoys me too - especially as people fawn over how great it is to have such a down to earth chairmain willing to speak with the fans and the media, blah blah blah... It's either 'we're not far off the Europa League spots' or radio silence.

Overall, I think he's a decent chairman to have. Where he's really impressed in crisis management - but some of those crises were his/the board's fault, of course. We really should have sorted out our recruitment infrastructure the moment we got promoted, because a lot of our problems now stem directly from bad recruitment - we're laden with overpaid average players and a depleted transfer budget because of all the donkeys we've bought, while almost never signing anyone whom we sell on at a profit. Steve's group of yes men and Palace old boys doesn't seem to result in efficient transfer activity.

Oh, I wonder why they've blanked out CEOs?

I am neither. I am pro Palace and if management decisions are made that are helpful and useful, profitable, merit worthy, gainful, promotional, enviable and in favour of Palace, than I am pro those decisions. Not all of Parish's decisions are useful, but the intent is that they would be despite the howlers as someone pointed out.

Other Chairman can seem like a bright light on a dark path, which is ironic considering Ron Noades is an anagram of Neon Roads!

So I manage a Workshop which provides a safe learning environment for blokes struggling with PTSD and other mental health issues. Being a Palace fan isn't listed yet.

Heard we are losing Hungbo on a free to Watford. We are also in the process of selling our best players and have sold our only young first team prospect. Considering donkeys are now 20-30 mil, you decide whether 50 mil was good business.
We haven't signed anyone and have had several leave. Whilst those that have left, may not be the best or were older, we seem to have nowhere near a 25 man squad.
Something has gone wrong. I'm assuming the Americans are causing trouble. I'm also assuming we are being taken over. Even if we are, someone needs to get a grip of the playing staff and form a decent 25 man squad. Whilst the chairman can piss around with the Americans and any takeover people, the DOF should be actively transfering players regardless of the off pitch stuff.
A proper statement about what is actually going on would be nice. We could hardly be a less attractive destination if we did state some rich foreign consortium is likely to takeover. We could hardly get ripped off in transfers any more than we do now.
Seriously, we have championship club at best, written all over us right now. We should be top half Premiership Club after this time, if managed prudently. What irks me are Bournemouth, Watford and Brighton - all are making decent additions, whilst we are trying to stop our best players walking out to a team that are hardly any better than us.

Can't argue with any of that! Let's just hope there is more going on behind the scenes than we are aware of.

We're aren't losing him on a free, we released him as we decided not to retain him.

He was supposed to be the next big thing but didn't develop as they hoped and others worked their way ahead of him.
