I would actually struggle to name the last programme I watched on a BBC channel. Not sure if I have used the BBC for at least 6 months if not longer? If I want some background noise then Dave or Comedy Central tend to be my go to channels. Why do you put the TV on for background noise? I think that if you haven't watched any BBC content for six months then you are in the minority. I also have Sky and Netflix but the drama quality on BBC is much higher and I watch The Politics Show every lunchtime and News at Ten in the evening

If we lose the BBC or change it too much think how much more dumbing down of the nation there will be. It’ll probably also have more androgynous males going by ITV’s preference to outspoken, beauty product wearing gay men co presenting nonsense on tv.

I have a suggestion as to the BBC saving themselves a bit of money on wages in my region. I'm in the Anglia region, and they have two Muppets reading the local news on Look East at 6.30 in the evening. Now, on the BBC national news at 6.00 they have the one news reader who does the job just fine for half an hour. The two Muppets struggle to report any decent news for just under half an hour on Look East. Good point overmanning is rife in the BBC. Often at the weekend 5live will have a live match commentary and the local BBC radio will also have their own team. This has nothing to do with quality why can't one station take a feed from another. They often have 2 match commentators and an "expert". Have you ever seen a reporter doing an OB. If it's commercial it's normally the reporter and a a couple of other people e.g. sound / cameraman, the BBC brings a whole army. Have you ever noticed the difference in quality can't say I have so what are the rest of them doing. If the Beeb really wanted to they could find the savings and I doubt the public would even notice. Here's another one many of the high profile high paid stars get their expenses paid for them. First class rail travel, taxis to the studios etc. The MOTD team are all paid very well they do not need expenses as well.

I'm hearing there's a few decent dramas on the beeb lately cos I haven't watched a bbc drama for donkeys years just the odd comedy (count Arthur stronge, vic and bob) - the period dramas are awful as is the news coverage, so pro-royalist and if you want an economic insight see max keiser, question time is lamentable, Andrew neil is retiring (halleluljah) - even the pop science is awful these days, let bbc4 carry on but the rest can die as far as i'm concerned, the presenters are all propagandist careerist robots. lord Reith turns in his grave everytime his celestial energy gets intertwined with bbc's wave signal.

The BBC aims to be impartial and scares politicians, that is why it is always in the firing line and why the more extreme want to emasculate it. It is a real jewel, clearly not perfect but nothing is. What is more it's one of the few ways Britain maintains its strength of voice across the world. Or maybe it's best to get rid of it and end up dependent upon the 'free' press like in the US. The US of course would rapidly come to dominate all communications in the UK too, can't wait for Fox News to tell me what to think.

I like to have the TV on in the background as I like a bit of noise on but not music and it allows me to dip in and out of what's on the TV whilst working as I work much better if I concentrate on work for 20-30 mins then focus on something else for 10. Usually during the day I will have something like Comedy Central, Dave or More 4 on and glance up at things like four in a bed to see some psychopath getting in a fight about one hair that was found under the lino of the carpet. I don't tend to watch political shows on TV too much and prefer to get that info on line from multiple sources, news is similar as I find I can read what I want rather than the depressing stuff on News shows and again Drama, not really my thing. Interested to know what good Drama's there are on BBC though. In fact the only shows I think I have watched on BBC in last few months is Match of the day, Dragons Den and I watch Peaky Blinders which I think was made by the BBC(?) but I've been watching that on Netflix.

Recent quality drama also includes Luther, Line of Duty and Bodyguard I have heard that all of them are good and I think Fleabag was a BBC programme but I haven't seen any of them just lots of comments on social media. Might give them one of them a go. Haven't got anything against the BBC, just haven't seen anything for a long time I've wanted to watch on there.

It does irritate me that people who lived through and maybe fought in the war are now being forced to fund a millennial fruitcake propaganda machine.

Be careful what you wish for people. If it wasn't for the BBC there would be hundreds of disabled, bisexual, ethnic minority women out of work.
