Shame Watford made the final. Absolutely no contest and they are showing an embarrassing level of fight and determination. Their manager sent them out with no concept of how to keep it tight and try to stay in the game. Crap club, crap town, glad they are getting hammered but it’s a shame for the spectacle, to see a 6-0. Anyone watching from afar would witness a team being humiliated and wonder how on earth they managed to reach a game this big, embarrassing.

Although I hate City (for buying success), this was fantastic. YT put it nicely. They got to wave flags, provided by the FA, whilst 6-0 down. Pathetic. Sums their fans up. Couldn’t hear them singing all their adapted Palace songs second half. As good as City were, Watford were as poor. 6-0 is embarrassing in a final and will go down in the history books.

I think against any other team our fans would just left or done nothing but think there was that air of evitability about it all and the fans just wanted to "enjoy" themselves. As for the match we simply cannot sit back and defend against anyone let alone a team in form like City were. Then when we did attack a couple of chances were missed that might have made a difference or we simply gave the ball away cheaply and got caught. I agree we seemed to give up after the 3/4 goals there seemed to be no great desire to get back into. Doucouré got booked early on which affected his game and our full backs got no protection from the wide men. Think the subs summed up both teams tbh! Embarrassing in the end.

Those with (very) long memories will remember that we, too, once suffered an F.CUP drubbing from Man City. Rewind to February 26 , 1926, and a most remarkable scoreline. 11-4 to City.

We didn't turn up when we played Watford in the quarter final and the better team won that day. However, I'd much rather them than us go on to face a 6-0 drubbing in the Final. It'll take a good while to live that down!

The defeat would have been even greater had it not been for the heroics of our keeper - Billy Callender. Incredibly, he made so many brilliant saves that he was voted Man of The Match and left the pitch on the shoulders of fans. Well played Billy!
Bexley Dave Can you hear the Brighton sing? I can't hear a ******* thing! "The most arrogant, obnoxious bunch of deluded little sun tanned, loafer wearing mummy's boys I've ever had the misfortune of having to listen to" (Burnley forum) |

Good for you to post on here after that disaster. Couple of points as highlighted above.... shame your club banned CPFC flags from fans who wanted to enjoy themselves.
