Trump's war on abortions

It is a sad statistic. When one is younger and not yet a parent and perhaps not in a stable relationship, it is much easier to ignore the less comfortable realities of abortion. Now I have had kids, I would find it impossible to recommend abortion to anyone, except in the most extreme circumstances. Politics and religion don't come into it. I also dread to think of some of the people in Alabama who could be raising children resentfully. I doubt that adequate provisions will be put in place to try and cope with the fallout.

If someone is going to destroy a healthy life.....personally the manner in which they do it is of secondary concern to me. People have contraceptives easily available.

The thought of any women, and they’re often young, having to go through the fear and health risks of dealing with back street operators is horrible.

Not sure what this has to do with Trump?? It's a state decision. Just to put the fear mongering into perspective... The Guttmacher Institute surveyed post-abortion women and found that 85% of the reasons for abortion were due to a lifestyle choice. Rape accounts for 0.5% including incest. [Link] In fact, America’s biggest abortion chain Planned Parenthood has often been protecting rapists. [Link] Re the Supreme Court, the conservative judges Kavanaugh and Roberts are likely to be on the fence on this issue. Edited by Penge Eagle (16 May 2019 9.24pm)

Politics and religion are certainly coming into it here. You talk of "extreme circumstances" - that is kind of the point. The religious right here, empowered by Trump, and his Supreme Court rebalancing are trying to make it illegal in every single circumstance, except when the mother's life is at risk. That means such extreme circumstances as rape and incest, are covered in this law as circumstances which do not allow for an abortion. That is plain wrong.
