Yes, and if we win Saturday we will be on 49 points our best tally in this stay in the top flight.

But some people can't admit they are wrong and keep banging on with nonsense arguments about things they don't understand.

They will keep on doing this until we are eventually relegated and then claim that they were always right and had seen it coming for years.

Hear hear!

Couple of wins against s*** teams after we've struggled to safety and all of a sudden the cracks are papered, Hodgson's a genius and we've had a good season.

We haven't. We should be 8th at least. Another s*** summer not signing a forward or attacking mid and Old Turkey neck takes us down.

That or another slog to 12th, magic.

Hopefully over this summer Roy and his coaching staff will come up with a new game plan for home matches ready for next season something along the lines of getting the ball forward quicker with forward passing rather than sideways and backwards passing. Leave the away game plan as it is as that works a treat playing on the break and it's pretty much what every away team sets out to do anyway.

I would say it has been a good season even though at times it hasn't felt like it as we have stayed up comfortably and never been in relegation trouble. It won't be one of those season's that live long in the memory aside from half a dozen brilliant away wins.

Next season could be similar. If Wilf and Arran both stay, which I hope they do of course, then I think it will be a case of loans and free transfers or low millions. If so don't expect any higher than 10th as if the likes of Wolves, Leicester and Everton spend big we won't have the quality to compete with them.

We lack a creative / goal scoring centre midfielder, someone who can unlock teams that park the bus, that and a goalscorer would be my targets.

The creative midfielder is already at the club in the shape of Meyer or so we thought. For whatever reason Roy is reluctant to play him however when he has started he hasn't looked as good as when used off the bench so maybe another creative midfielder can come in to give us more choice. Hope Meyer doesn't leave as with a bit of fine tuning he could be a quality player for us.

Chelsea have lost their bid to overturn the transfer ban there last chance is now the court of Arbitration. My guess is that they won't let many players go this summer so don't expect RLC Batman or others to turn up at Palace.

He may turn out to still be a good player for us, but from what I've seen I just don't think Meyer is that style of midfielder. He's busy and looks good on the ball, but he's very rarely looked like making that killer pass whenever he's played. He doesn't seem to be a player who will spot a pass you couldn't even see from the stands.

Against Everton there were moments when he was playing passes behind players and slowing them up. Against Huddersfield he had the chance to play in Wilf and instead just played a sideways pass to Schlupp who was three yards away. He seems more like the type to keep possession, rather than really unlock a team.

Feels like we need a proper creative player, whether it's someone who can drift in from the flank and play more centrally, someone to play from deeper alongside Luka or someone to play a more orthodox No.10 role and get closer to the centre forward.

I think we've already got the players in the squad to change the shape and accommodate any one of those options, depending on any potential departures.

Employee of the month is a good example of how someone can be both a winner and a loser at the same time.

We really shouldn't grumble at what will be our second best ever points tally in the top flight if we beat Bournemouth

Obviously it is the wretched home form that puts a pall on things. The last two away games have produced as many open play goals as all the home fixtures combined!

Looking ahead, I'd be worried that Hodgson will be even more stubborn, particularly with regard to substitutions. Also the recent transfers, bar Guaita, have been poor. Unless that improves markedly, the potential loss of Zaha could be devastating.

You're absolutely right here, he's simply not the player (style or ability) that people want him to be

or should be for the wages. Meyer is probably on 10x Wan-Bissaka's salary, which is obviously ridiculous.

If there are any takers in the summer, he has to go. It is not as though he contributes anything defensively (at least in a positive sense) or can even deliver a dead-ball

Id agree with that, good point.
Rarely looks like he cares either, never acknowledges the fans

Shelvey would do a job in our midfield.
Would bring protection as well for wilf.
The odd red but with these types of players it comes with the territory unfortunately.
