Can't really see either Bats or Ayew busting a gut for us up front today. Hopefully Wickham might see some action. COYP !!

I just don't understand why you would start Ayew and McArthur over Meyer. Now is the time to see if he can cut it for next year or not. Give him a full 90 rather than play a loanee and someone who you know inside out.

Agree, well with some of it , the need for loanees has past and they should not IMO be anywhere near the match day squad . As you say time to give some of OUR players a run out .

Think it is becoming clear now that Roy does not rate him as this is a good opportunity today to see if he can contribute.

Roy won’t play him in a system or position where he can succeed.

Poor, poor signing by parish, all because he was touted and mainly because he was free.

Square peg round hole.

So the actual team is

Guaita, AWB, Kelly, Dann, Ward, Luka, McArthur, Ayew, Zaha, Townsend and Bats

I like this team, positive selections. Ward did a good job last time out, Ayew and Bats together could be interesting combo.

Looking increasingly like this type of transfer. If so we really do need to put in a place a far better transfer policy. If that means new personnel running this, then so be it. Perhaps that will be our best spending in the summer ?

Why are we playing two loanees up front? Why not play Wickham and Sako, or give a youngster a go? I just hope we are not going after Ayew or Bats permanently.

I think some famous bloke once said it’s mental to keep doing the same things and expect different results

To have a good transfer policy, first you need to actually have one.

Yeh, should be Ayew and Andros wide with Wilf and Batshuayi up top I would guess.

I’d possibly swap Zaha and Ayew during the game. If Ayew has space to run at and behind the full back he’s useful. Otherwise he’s sh1t. We haven’t seen him as a 2nd striker.

Nobody currently says no to Parish, I bet.

Why has the match thread been merged with the one complaining about some predicted line up?

Anyway, working: [Link]
