That idiot Pardew tried and look what happened. So, what are you saying, is there no middle ground between Pardew and Hodgson where we defend soundly but play more entertaining football? It doesn’t just have to be one or the other and I also think you underestimate the abilities of the players in our squad.

This fir me. I don't deny roy haz done a great job. But really feel we could havd done better. He's got uz well organised, hard to beat and great away from home. What I don't get, or like is that we play thd same team/system/tactics home or away, wether we are playing man city or Huddersfield. I despaired at the home games against Brighton and Huddersfield. Surely to God we should havd attacked them frpm thd start, getting more players forward and supporting thd striker. No we just sat back, keeping men behind thd ball, passing sideways...awful. and I won't even mention his substitutions. So for me it's a bit like my school reports were. Did well but could do better.. Spot on

Could be eaglecoops, I think I appreciate what the players can do but perhaps like RH frightened to find out in case it ends badly. I just love being in the PL and want us to stay and build, like they say "Rome wasn't built in a day". Cheers

Why would anyone be grumpy with our home form over the last three seasons? Jesus beggars belief tbh. 4 wins from 16 and a hand full of goals...swap away and home form and there’d be less of an up roar.

It's a good article and I suppose I am glad we'll be staying up again. Two points need consideration. Firstly, The HF's initial "absence" from SP changed the atmosphere although when they returned, results didn't improve but perhaps performances did a bit. Next season will, at least, see us up for it from the word go. Secondly, it doesn't seem Wilf wants to leave or, indeed, the club wish to sell him. But he really has made the difference with our points haul this season. We will need an extra outlay of funds when the new stand gets built and without investment from the Americans, this may force the club's hand. I'm not expecting great things over the summer with squad improvements but last summer was not inspiring enough. We need to be shrewd and brave. And this may involve a change of management.

This is the situation - Parish couldn't back Roy, as he should have done this summer, to allow him to have two years doing it his way, to fully steady the ship and hand us over a mid table club.. Too many mistakes in the past are still being paid for, literally. So, whilst Roy is doing a great job considering he is expected to finish 17th with what he has, we are not seeing the best of Roy. This summer, i really feel we need to give Roy an extension, one year so that summer 2021 is time for a new manager to come in, with a similar vision and ethos to carry on with the club. Last Jan, Roy was stubborn and was making statements on the pitch with players, showing that we needed signings - he asked and stated we needed up to 7 new bodies in. That never happened, not even close. There are articles out there stating this, any one reading up on us at the time will have seen this. Thing is, i don't think it's fair on Roy as we aren't seeing the best of him, which is why i feel, cash in on AWB, Meyer, spend that cash on 4 players Roy does want, built around Zaha and capable of plan b. Let Roy do his thing and i am confident we reach 40 points quicker next season and quicker again.

Does anybody have our home vs away stats since promotion. My sense is that we would have better away form and the lack of points at home this year is not a new thing
Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |

I think the big difference between good and bad has been the tempo. First half generallay pedestrian and second half, much much quicker. The only problem has been that in some games, by the time the tempo increases, we have ben a goal down ( Brighton, Southampton, W Ham as examples) and only thanks to Guita we weren't 0-2 down to Huddersfiled (again). Its by and large the same players on the pitch (after all the delays in subs is well documented) so why so so so slow in build up early in the games as there is clearly that ability to play a a faster game.? Clearly they won't go tearing into Citeh early on ,but as somebody else has said we treat the poorer teams exactly the same as the big 6 at home.
I got vision, and the rest of the world wears bifocals. |
