£100 a month ffs. What's that per victory? Fair play to all season ticket holders, proper fans. Wish they'd at least keep the lager chilled to repay such loyal support... I wish they would sell decent food. Even if they charge me like they do for the season ticket.

Anyone empathising with this must surely have top 6 glamour club in their DNA and somehow got caught up in supporting palace in the fog of premiere league potential. I suggest supporting one of the norf london footie outfits or for true home win security, go even further north to Manchester. If the lack of palace winning at home after 6 seasons in top flight football is really a problem then selhurst definitely ain't for you. Don't fight your instincts.. "I'm a better fan than you because I like losing". What a bizarre bit of one upmanship. How many thousands of pounds would you continue to flush down the bog to prove how die hard you are then? If you've got young kids it transcends the kudos of being able to boast "I sat w***ing through 10 home defeats this year whilst all the other fans went home early" and just becomes irresponsible.

If I were to be in cynical mode, I'd say clubs don't actually give a flying f*** about fans. The game is all about money, and these days that comes from sponsorship and tv. Edited by southnorwoodhill (27 Mar 2019 8.29am)

It’s not so much the losing it is the way the team plays. Utter lethargy. I think we all go for some excitement? What we get is boring triangles while the opponents all get back and organise themselves and then play across the box with no chance of an opening. Let’s face it, if Andros wasn’t tripped against Brighton we never would have scored.
I got vision, and the rest of the world wears bifocals. |

I'm a season ticket holder and have been so for many years now. I can't disagree - the home performances are so boringly predictable that my enthusiasm is at a pretty low ebb. But - I have already renewed for next season because going to Palace is a Family thing. My daughter, son and partner have season tickets. And I travel up from the South Coast with a group of friends. That makes it worthwhile for me. I can totally understand people not renewing but in my view it's the Club that we support. Not this Chairman, not this Manager, not this group of Players. They are all transient. Palace will still be there after they have gone.

Last few seasons home form has been appalling…I pay £100 per month for 3 season tickets, hardly any wins, hardly any goals. Footballers paid thousands of pounds per week seemingly unable to string two passes together or even put in a decent corner or free kick…Roy doesn’t seem to understand when a change needs to be made (what was it that Einstein said about repeating the same task and expecting a different outcome?). Promises of a new stand but still no news…has Khan has even looked at it... tekkers has cost us a fortune, his ROI is shocking… PVA is pony, we melted against Brighton and Watford…would Jim Cannon, Andy Gray or Michael Hughes taken a card to flatten Delafuso after his tackle on Luka…I think they would…Schluppy looking like a scared rabbit in the headlights talking to Deeney just after that tackle…What has happened to us? Reading these posts and it seems like lots of people feel the same…I can’t wait for this season to be over...used to look forward to going to Selhurst….walk home now with a face like a smacked bottom most of the time trying to explain to the kids why we can’t win at home….out of 11 of us 5 can no longer take it and are not renewing their season tickets….our fans used to be classed as the 12th man but now we’re to blame for the poor home form cos the players can’t handle our expectations, really? Appreciate Steve P and the guys saved us….but enough is enough when are they going to wake up and kick these players up the back side and get them earning their money…these players owe us fans big time over the last few home games…hopefully we’ll stay up….still need to decide on renewing season tickets though…or is this poor home form over the last few seasons bad enough to throw the towel in? sounds like you need a break. Have a few seasons off, get your Saturdays back and look at it again in a couple of years - see whether the urge to return is there. My dad has been saying the same to me for a few seasons now. He can't justify the expense and negative emotion. Why pay to have your Saturday/week-day-night ruined? I haven't been going as much lately as I have two young kids and don't get to see them for very long during the week, but went to the West Ham game and really enjoyed the spectacle but I was in the minority. I could tell from the completely irrational emotional state of many of the season ticket holders around me that they're in a similar place to you. I'll get a season ticket again one day when the kids are a bit older and will be all the better for having a break from it.

Look, I am as pissed off as anyone with our form and whilst I don’t go every week, (I currently share a season ticket as I don’t spend the whole year in the UK), I haven’t seen a win this season despite going to 50% of the games. My ticket is an eyebrow raising £4K per annum (£2k is my share) so I feel as aggrieved as the rest of you that I don’t see much value for money. Oh well at least I get free booze included in that.

The club are preying on our addiction. I drive up from Kent every game, and I must admit it's getting a bit of a chore. But having said that, I'll probably renew next season just in case we win a few. I'd only be at home with the missus anyway.

We are Palace. We have been in Administration twice in modern times (how many can say that!). We are enduring/experiencing (!) our longest stay in the top flight. We were very recently in a cup final (again!). Only a couple of teams outside the top 6 are not seriously looking over their shoulder. We are playing in the most competitive league in the world. What do we honestly expect? European football? LOL Don't worry, as we'll get relegated soon enough!

I know what you mean mate. The ups and downs of the last 40 years have at least usually been exciting, but now it feels like we have stagnated and aren't going anywhere Originally posted by cryrst

I'm also considering giving up my season ticket too and becoming a member and going to the occassional match. I've given it a rest before and returned full of enthusiasm and it feels right to do it again. It's really for the reasons listed above in addition to being fed up with much fewer Saturday 3pm kos.
