Banter and club rivalry is what makes football different to many other sports and I like it for that. Having said that many of my friends support clubs I dislike (including Brighton), but I don't hate them for it as I'm not a two-year-old child...instead I just make childish insults about their clubs and revel in it when we beat them

Lets get hate out of our culture.
I grew up with Millwall as great rivals. We always wanted to thrash them but didn't hate them.
My crowd has had many trips to Brighton away and always enjoyed them. I want to thrash Brighton same as all Palace fans but I also respect and admire them.
They went bust same as Palace do regularly but had worse problems. Their supporters did an amazing job to resurrect the club, build a great ground and the club has done brilliantly to make the Premier league. And we know how tough that is for a small club.
Sure we all want to thrash them on Saturday but lets have a bit of respect like Palace want and get 'hate' out of our culture

I think people are being told how they should feel far too much these days in all aspects of life. Many people go to football to let off some steam and get away from all that.
My answer to your post is a respectful: Thats how you feel? Fair enough but dont tell me how to feel or how to behave. You are not the Palace police and I still wouldn't listen to you if you were.
I HATE Brighton and I enjoy doing so. You admire them if you want. Personally I leave that to the Seaweed fans.
Jeez!

I hate terrorists who would kill my kids.

Not much else truly pushes my hate button.

Words mean different things in different contexts - in the context of a football rivalry, obviously 'hate' doesn't mean the same thing as it usually would. Given the near-eradication of violence from the modern game, I don't think we need to worry too much about whether people use slightly over-the-top terms when discussing football rivalries.

Which song?

‘Sussex by the sea’ or ‘Ole Seagulls’ before a corner?

Both copied directly off us.

The ground was built on Tony Bloom’s fortune and hasn’t been paid back, and so was their promotion to the premier league. They spent loads for a good few years before reigning it in the season they got promoted. We got here on about £600k. Actually it was nothing or a net profit on transfers seeing as we made money on Ambrose, Scannell and Clyne, then spent nowhere near those millions in profit because there were annual losses to cover. Their argument that we somehow cheated due to the administration can be countered with firstly we didn’t, plus all the players we bought to get us into that mess were long gone.
