On my way down South when I was in my early 20s I used to pull over on my bike at an airstrip in Lincolnshire just to watch them taking off. They were absolutely mesmerising

When I was younger I used to get taken to RAF Wattisham to watch the English Electric Lightnings. They were amazing, I loved the way the afterburners came on and then they would climb absolutely vertically like rockets. And when they landed they deployed parachutes.
