John Bostock was quite well received when he came back with Toulouse for the friendly last August.

Some years ago John Salako got booed when we played Charlton at the Valley “Palace reject” etc
Trivial fact - Palace used to win 5-1 at least once a season, maybe next season? |

I seem to remember the prolific Patrick Bamford receiving a rightly deserved chorus of booing when he came back to SP (with Norwich I think?) Couldn't understand why, (again, I think) we were only 1-0 up and I've never been so relieved to see the opposition bring on a specific player!
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

Actually I think they ended up winning the game 0-1 or even 0-2, he saved a penalty right in front of us at the Whitehorse. Susmik says he met him and he was a nice bloke, but the way he went on strike against QPR last game of the season when he let in 6 was a disgrace and if ever a player deserved to get slaughtered on their return, it was him. Shame it didn’t do us much good though.

Also playing in that game for Barnsley were Tuttle, Dyer and Shipperley it seems we did a lot of business with Barnsley at that time, think Geoff Thomas had a spell there and Harry Bassett managed them too.

As it happens you mentioning Geoff Thomas, much as he’s a legend on and off the pitch, he took some stick off us when he came back with Wolves and scored against us up the Whitehorse end. He ran along in front of us celebrating a bit too much for an ex-player, but he never gets much stick for it now on here or the BBS,unlike Ian Wright. One step up from Becks and on a par with (actually slightly below in my book) Carlsberg. Which itself is reprocessed pisswater. Heineken is grim.

Steady on, at least Heiny has the percentage going for it. You could guzzle ten pints of Carlsberg and still blow clear on the breathalyser.

Are we talking about players over 30 years of age or former Palace players? I don't think we should be ageist or Sky will start a new campaign - limp it out.
