Firstly Neesons friend being raped is an appalling act.

Neeson asked the lady what colour was the man who done this,she said he was black.

If he was white do you think Neeson would be walking the streets with a Cosh hoping to kill a white man?

I don't think he would.

A woman being raped by any man regardless of colour is unforgivable.

He was specifically hoping to be approached by a black man to smash him with a cosh. Not the rapist, just any black man because he wanted to take it out on a black man. You think he would have said he wanted to cosh any white man? You are not making valid comparisons

You are probably overlooking the fact that there probably weren't that many Black people around back then and yet one of them raped his friend.
That obviously didn't help discourage any stereotyping he might have had in his mind at the time.

Also, the context of the conversation was of his remorse for being misguided at that time.
He could have chosen his language a bit more carefully but his biggest crime, in my opinion, was to think that you can speak openly in 2019 without being accused of all sorts.
He should have know better than to open his gob.

I think that's fair.

He was too honest about an irrational dangerous emotion that he didn't act upon.....But apparently.....thought crime.

However, white men kill other white men all the time and that's the point I was ensuring was clarified.
