Dann on for Sakho for at least the last 10. Sakho's great, but always seems to have late concentration issues.

Jimmy Mac will start ahead of Kauyate.

We haven’t done that since Puncheon used to play.

Yes - this is what I'm expecting. I do think Meyer in for McCarthur would make sense but he won't do it. Benteke or Wickham off the bench at 60 hopefully.

Unfortunately, I think PVA is playing as if this is the alternative...

Time for a boot up the jacksie. Schlupp, Ward or Kelly aren't going to defend any worse than he has recently.

Who is on the bench will be as interesting as the team especially with Bakary Sako back as he covers more positions, thats if he is ready to go.

So like, what's up with everyone dropping Jimmy Mac from their team?? The guy's been arguably our most consistent performer for years...absolute workhorse and quality too. He's close to the first name on the team sheet for me. Or have I missed something? For me, it's:

Luka-Macca
Meyer

Kouyate has been one of our standout performers in recent games adding a real physical presence and doing the simple stuff well. He has been great at covering the wings when needed and gets forward well. McArthur is still a great player, but he gives away cheap fouls too often and for me he doesn't quite have that eye for a killer ball. I think it is really between him and Meyer who starts though, as Kouyate and Luka make a great defensive-midfield duo.

McArthur is agreed hardworking and reliable but he doesn't breakdown defences the way Meyer would so I can see a change is sometimes needed.

Jimmy Mac is often given the job of tracking the oppositions most dangerous players as i reckon his concentration in defensive is great. Look how effective Hazard has been against us. There are 2 sides to the game - what you do with the ball and what you do when you don't have it. That's why he will start a head of Meyer.

I would be surprised if this wasn’t the starting 11. Roy has said Wickham and Benteke not fit enough yet to start in the Premier. Unfortunately Meyer is just too lightweight to start.
Only change could be keeper, depending who is fit.
